This is the fourth studio album from Lemar, the first man in
noughties British soul. As we've come to expect from the
smooth Tottenham-born ex-Fame Academy student, 'The Reason' is
a slinky affair, with songs such as 'Mayday' and 'If She Knew'
standing out as examples of his ballad mode. The release also
sees Lemar return to his harder soul roots with the sessions
benefiting from an array of producers. Jack Splash, Salaam
Remi and Jim Johnson were all behind the glass, contributing
to an album that sees Lemar move a step closer to an American
RnB sound.
